In 1972, TDS Collection Service Inc. began providing trash collection services to rural residents in Goshen County, with one trash collection truck and three customers.
In the 50 years since, TDS has grown to be the leader in full-service trash collection in southeast Wyoming and Western Nebraska, with 12 full-time collection trucks and approximately 4,000 rural customers in three counties.
Additionally, TDS provides trash collection services for the towns of Lingle, Fort Laramie, Yoder, Guernsey, Hartville, Manville, Glendo, and LaGrange.
In 1981, TDS acquired 78 acres of land and started the first, and only, private landfill in the state of Wyoming. TDS reduced the environmental footprint of its landfill by using the most modern practices available, such as the use of a baler to compact waste, reducing land requirements by 70 percent and using liners in waste pits, greatly reducing the impact on surface and groundwater.
The rural population has continued to grow in the region and TDS has continued to grow with it, offering septic pumping, roll-off container and road construction services for our rural customers.
Along with the rural population growth, the industrial base of the region has also expanded; rail traffic increased and oil, gas and pipeline development has moved into the area, providing opportunity for TDS to expand our industrial services. TDS provides rail services, road construction, demolition services, industrial sanitation services, and trucking for our industrial partners.
TDS is a leader in employing state-of-the-art environmental services such as soil remediation, fuel tank removal and landfarming in dealing with waste by-products in all of our operations.
